The Andalas Law Journal (ALJ) is a premier, peer-reviewed publication overseen by the Faculty of Law at Andalas University. Published twice a year, in June and December, ALJ offers immediate open access to all its content, driven by the belief that unrestricted availability of research accelerates global knowledge sharing and collaboration.

As a respected platform, ALJ invites scholars, researchers, and legal practitioners to contribute original research and thoughtful review articles. The journal covers a wide array of legal topics, with a particular focus on deep analyses of criminal justice systems, civil rights, and the application of criminal and civil law across jurisdictions. It also explores critical issues surrounding international treaties, constitutional law, and governance, offering keen insights into public administration, economic regulation, and corporate law.

In addition, ALJ places special emphasis on Islamic law and customary laws (Adat), particularly within the Southeast Asian context. The journal also addresses timely and relevant legal issues in healthcare, bioethics, and environmental protection, examining the laws that govern medical practices and sustainable development.
