The Andalas Law Journal (ALJ) is a rigorously peer-reviewed publication managed by the Faculty of Law at Andalas University. Published biannually in June and December, ALJ is committed to providing immediate open access to its content, grounded in the belief that freely available research fosters a more extensive global knowledge exchange.
ALJ is a platform for scholars, researchers, and legal practitioners to publish original research and insightful review articles. The journal covers a broad spectrum of legal topics, including in-depth analyses of criminal justice systems and civil rights, explorations of international treaties and constitutional frameworks, and critical studies of public administration and economic regulations. Additionally, ALJ delves into the complexities of Islamic law and customary laws (Adat), particularly in Southeast Asia, and addresses pressing medical and environmental law issues, including healthcare ethics and environmental protection.
